Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps you to understand and change the way you think, known as cognitive patterns, and what you do, known as behaviour.

It focuses on difficulties in the here and now, supporting you to develop more helpful ways of thinking and responding.

Sometimes, our thoughts can create strong emotions, which then influence our behaviour in ways that may not serve us well. CBT helps you to recognise these patterns and understand how they are affecting your life.

With the support of a counsellor, you can begin to make small, practical changes that lead to more positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

CBT can be helpful for stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessions, and eating disorders.
